This weekend 16 amateur players broke the Guinness World Record for the longest game of 5-aside football ever played. Players played 5-aside for 46 hours and 24 minutes straight. This equates to 31 normal length football matches.

The existing World Record was 43 hours. The match was stopped after 46 hours and 24 minutes due to various injuries. However, each player ran a minimum of two full marathons- that’s 84.4km. Some of the team managed to run as much as 100kms. The final score was 870-517!

Game for a Future has raised £5,000k so far and it’s still not too late to donate (

Game for a Future would like to say a huge thank you to our 12 FA referees, 24 official witnesses, supporters, donors and everyone involved for your help and support in our mission to SMASH the Guinness World Record but most importantly to raise much needed funds and awareness for Inspiring Futures : Uganda (
